WOODRIVER CELLARS’ “PERFECT PAIR” NIGHT TO FEATURE WILD GAME IN SEPTEMBER

Eagle Hills Golf Course’s “Eighteen 1” Restaurant Chef Aaron Horsewood to Be Featured as Woodriver Cellars’ First Perfect Pair Guest Chef

Eagle, Idaho, September 8, 2009 – A very special “Perfect Pair” food and wine event will be held at Woodriver Cellars (www.woodrivercellars.com) this Thursday, September 10th at 7:00 pm. With the arrival of hunting season, the popular Perfect Pair event will feature wild game paired with Woodriver Cellars’ amazing Port and its 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. Guest Chef Aaron Horsewood of “Eighteen 1” restaurant will prepare fresh, local wild game in a variety of Tapas-style dishes while Woodriver Cellars winemaker Neil Glancey will host the event. Glancey and Horsewood will be talking to guests and answering questions in what should be an interactive evening of food, wine and fun. Chef Aaron is the first ever in a planned series of “guest” chefs that will make an appearance at the winery’s monthly food/wine evening.

“We are very excited to have Chef Aaron from ‘Eighteen One’ restaurant at Eagle Hills Golf Course with us for our ‘Perfect Pair’ night this coming Thursday, the 10th,” Glancey stated. “It’s the perfect time of year to pair our wines with local wild game and we are really looking forward to working with Aaron and his team again. We recently teamed up at the Eagle Food and Wine Festival a couple of weeks ago. I can tell you from personal experience that Chef Aaron creates amazing dishes and the menu he has laid out for us looks phenomenal. I can’t wait for this coming Thursday and I encourage everyone to attend.”

“I am very pleased to participate in Woodriver Cellars’ ‘Perfect Pair’ evening this month, especially as the event’s first guest chef,” Horsewood began. “I’m confident that Woodriver Cellars Perfect Pair crowd will be very pleased with the menu and how delicious wild game can taste. Wild Game and Woodriver Cellars’ Cabernet and Port should go great together. People can expect a fun, interactive, ‘Iron Chef’-like experience. I’m looking forward to working with Neil Glancey and the staff over at Woodriver Cellars. It will be a great experience for everyone in attendance. I think this is an event that should not be missed.”

About Woodriver Cellars

Woodriver Cellars is the best kept secret among Idaho’s fine wineries. Named after the much acclaimed Woodriver Vineyard, which the company purchased in 2008, Woodriver Cellars uses environmentally sustainable practices and has gained a reputation for creating unique, award-winning wines from the best grapes in Idaho. Located at an optimal 2,200 feet elevation at the heart of the Snake River Appellation, the Woodriver Vineyard has a history of producing outstanding grapes. In fact, the vineyard has contributed towards other wineries winning awards for over 15 years. Celebrated winemaker Neil Glancey takes advantage of Woodriver Vineyard’s optimal rocky, Bordeaux-like soil and purposefully limits harvests to two tons per acre to produce memorable wines with intense fruit flavors that stay in the minds of wine lovers long after they have finished a bottle. Based on its limited wine production, Woodriver Cellars award-winning wines are available only at select restaurants, boutique wine shops and the Woodriver Cellars winery. Woodriver Cellars’ wines have won numerous awards at renowned wine tasting competitions, such as the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the West Coast Wine Competition, the Idaho Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York.
