WOODRIVER CELLARS SETS SEPTEMBER ARTISTS FOR ITS MONTHLY GALLERY PROGRAM

Joseph Cowman Returns for a “Command” Performance While Donna Bernstein Debuts Her Cutting Edge, Abstract Paintings and Sculptures of Horses at the Winery

Eagle, Idaho, August 31, 2009 – Woodriver Cellars winery (www.woodrivercellars.com) today unveiled its featured artists for the Tasting Room’s Monthly Gallery Program for September. Joseph Cowman, who was featured earlier this year at Woodriver Cellars, will return with his whimsical paintings and artwork. Cowman’s art was very popular at the winery and so it is with great anticipation that Joseph will be displaying his work there again.

Also featured starting September 4th (the designated “first Friday” Monthly Gallery debut each month) will be Donna Bernstein of McCall. Also known as Donna B Art, Ms. Bernstein creates contemporary paintings and sculptures of horses that aren’t “necessarily traditional”. The appearance of Bernstein’s art at Woodriver Cellars is timely in that Woodriver Cellars is sponsoring the Idaho Cutting Horse Association’s Futurity and Aged Event at the Idaho Center in Nampa from September 1st through September 8th. Woodriver Cellars is also hosting the ICHA’s Champion’s Dinner on Monday, September 7th. Up to 250 ICHA winners and their guests will be passing through the Tasting Room on their way to the gala dinner which will be held at the winery’s main event center. Woodriver Cellars and the ICHA will also debut a special ICHA “Gold Buckle” label custom wine starting September 1st.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Joseph Cowman and that we are introducing Donna Bernstein to our Tasting Room,” Woodriver Cellars Communications Director Steve Zunich, began. “We should have many visitors that appreciate the beauty, majesty and dignity of horses so Donna’s art will be much appreciated. She brings thoughtful emotion to the horses she creates. They take on an almost human quality even though they are being portrayed in an abstract way. Joseph Cowman provides humor and fun in a very warm and likable style. Joseph’s work probably provided us with the most positive feedback we have received to date, which is why we are so happy to have him back. Our first Friday is one of the most popular nights of the month in the Tasting Room. I invite everyone to join us Friday evening, the 4th, for some great art, great food and award-winning wine. As usual, our artists should be present which always makes it a special event.”

About Woodriver Cellars

Woodriver Cellars is the best kept secret among Idaho’s fine wineries. Named after the much acclaimed Woodriver Vineyard, which the company purchased in 2008, Woodriver Cellars uses environmentally sustainable practices and has gained a reputation for creating unique, award-winning wines from the best grapes in Idaho. Located at an optimal 2,200 feet elevation at the heart of the Snake River Appellation, the Woodriver Vineyard has a history of producing outstanding grapes. In fact, the vineyard has contributed towards other wineries winning awards for over 15 years. Celebrated winemaker Neil Glancey takes advantage of Woodriver Vineyard’s optimal rocky, Bordeaux-like soil and purposefully limits harvests to two tons per acre to produce memorable wines with intense fruit flavors that stay in the minds of wine lovers long after they have finished a bottle. Based on its limited wine production, Woodriver Cellars award-winning wines are available only at select restaurants, boutique wine shops and the Woodriver Cellars winery. Woodriver Cellars’ wines have won numerous awards at renowned wine tasting competitions, such as the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the West Coast Wine Competition, the Idaho Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York.
