EAGLE BUSINESS OWNER PROPOSES MARRIAGE AT WOODRIVER CELLARS WINERY IN EAGLE, IDAHO

Brandon Wallace Selects WRC 2005 “Meritage” As Compliment to Proposal: Brooke Obenchain Accepts at Winery’s “Island” Setting

Eagle, Idaho, April 13, 2009 – Woodriver Cellars (www.woodrivercellars.com) is proud to announce the first recorded marriage proposal / engagement to take place at its winery last Friday, the 10th at about 6:30pm in the evening. While Woodriver Cellars tasting room hosted music and served its Five O’clock Friday meals to a receptive crowd, Brandon Wallace proposed to Brooke Obenchain outside, on the grounds of the winery at its “island” location. Good news for Mr. Wallace! The bride-to-be accepted. When the young engaged couple came back into the tasting room, they were greeted with congratulations from Woodriver Cellars staff and guests.

Wallace, who is from Seattle but moved to Eagle to be near Brooke, arrived at the tasting room at about 5:00pm to plot with Woodriver Cellars staff and to select a wine for the occasion. Ron Thiel, the tasting room host, recommended WRC’s award-winning 2005 Meritage and then attached a card that Brandon had brought with him to the bottle. The bottle was left with Ron and, Brooke, who had been instructed to meet Brandon at the tasting room, was given the bottle upon her arrival a little after 6:00pm. Brooke was directed to the island and the couple was all alone for their special moment. The early word is that Brandon and Brooke will quite possibly get married at the winery, which would be a happy ending to this fairy tale.

“We had the perfect experience at Woodriver Cellars,” Wallace, owner of Capital City High Tech audio/video/computer services in Eagle, stated. “When I first arrived, I was feeling very nervous and uncomfortable. The encouragement I received from the Woodriver staff made me feel great about what I was doing and helped me get over my nervousness. Ron picked the perfect wine and Kelly took photos of us afterward. All evening long people were coming up and congratulating us afterward. I can’t thank the staff there enough. They helped me to relax and enjoy the moment and, of course, I got what I wanted, which is Brooke’s hand. What a fantastic day it was for both of us!”

“All of us at Woodriver Cellars congratulate Brandon and Brooke,” Woodriver Cellars owner Dave Buich commented. “Their engagement event brought a great energy and a happy vibe to our Friday night crowd and to our staff. We wish them all the best.”
