2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Press Release
WOODRIVER CELLARS INTRODUCES 2005 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Woodriver Vineyard 2005 Harvest Yields This Memorable Cabernet Which is Becoming Popular Based on Regional Taste Tests
Eagle, Idaho, September 4, 2009 – Woodriver Cellars (www.woodrivercellars.com) today officially released its 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which has already been well received by Tasting Room visitors and several local fine dining restaurants. This new Cabernet offering from Woodriver Cellars follows up the very popular 2006 Cabernet Malbec Reserve blend, which, sadly, is no longer in stock. The winery is confident that this 2005 Cabernet will be a suitable and popular replacement red wine.
“This 2005 Cab was bottled about six weeks ago,” Woodriver Cellars’ winemaker Neil Glancey stated. “Since then it is starting to lay down really nicely. Now is the perfect time to launch this outstanding Bordeaux. A lot of people really loved our 2006 Cab-Malbec which, in my opinion, was a little young despite its popularity. The ’05 Cab, with another year of age before its initial bottling, promises to be even better. In fact, a lot of customers have told me that this is the best wine we have created to date. I’ll let the people be the judge of that but I am very excited about this wine and welcome everyone to come out to the winery to try it.”
Woodriver Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Woodriver Cellars’ 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon features complex and beautifully integrated tannins that wander all across the tongue and give way to deep plum, Bing cherry and black pepper flavors for a wonderful experience from start to finish. Woodriver Vineyard grapes are grown in an environmentally sustainable environment and are hand-picked to protect and bring the best flavors and aromas from the vines to our wines.
Live Music, Food and Wine at Woodriver Cellars
Woodriver Cellars features live music and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights in the Tasting Room. The menu varies but usually includes Prime Rib, Caesar Salad with Chicken, various appetizers and one featured special entrée. Woodriver Cellars’ Thursday Night Music series will continue into October. Food is also available on Thursday evenings, although the menu is more limited. If you come out for dinner on Fridays, winemaker Neil Glancey is on site and gives tours of the production facilities after dinner.
About Woodriver Cellars
Woodriver Cellars is the best kept secret among Idaho’s fine wineries. Named after the much acclaimed Woodriver Vineyard, which the company purchased in 2008, Woodriver Cellars uses environmentally sustainable practices and has gained a reputation for creating unique, award-winning wines from the best grapes in Idaho. Located at an optimal 2,200 feet elevation at the heart of the Snake River Appellation, the Woodriver Vineyard has a history of producing outstanding grapes. In fact, the vineyard has contributed towards other wineries winning awards for over 15 years. Celebrated winemaker Neil Glancey takes advantage of Woodriver Vineyard’s optimal rocky, Bordeaux-like soil and purposefully limits harvests to two tons per acre to produce memorable wines with intense fruit flavors that stay in the minds of wine lovers long after they have finished a bottle. Based on its limited wine production, Woodriver Cellars award-winning wines are available only at select restaurants, boutique wine shops and the Woodriver Cellars winery. Woodriver Cellars’ wines have won numerous awards at renowned wine tasting competitions, such as the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the West Coast Wine Competition, the Idaho Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York.
