WOODRIVER CELLARS AUGUST “PERFECT PAIR” NIGHT SET FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH IN THE WINERY’S TASTING ROOM
Winemaker Neil Glancey Will Pair Mediterranean Cuisine with Woodriver Cellars Wines
Eagle, Idaho, August 10, 2009 – Woodriver Cellars (www.woodrivercellars.com) hosts its Perfect Pair night, which combines a different cuisine with the winery’s award-winning wines, every month. August’s Perfect Pair Night will be held Thursday, August 13th featuring Mediterranean cuisine theme as winemaker Neil Glancey pairs three of Woodriver Cellars’ newest wines with an elegant “build your own” gyro platter, featuring Greek style lamb with tzadziki sauce, greek olives, feta cheese and greek salad. The wines that will be poured will be the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2008 Chardonnay and the 2008 Riesling, which has already won two Silver Medals in major wine tasting events in New York and Northern California.
“We are excited to feature our new wines at our monthly ‘Perfect Pair’ event,” Woodriver Cellars’ winemaker Neil Glancey stated. “Traditionally spicy lamb dishes pair very well with Cabernet Sauvignon. Though I’m sure our visitors will enjoy the new ’05 Cab with their lamb, we’ll straying from tradition by enjoying a white wine with their lamb, as well. The mango, citrus and honeydew melon flavors of our 2008 Chardonnay and the apricot aroma and sweet finish of our already award-winning 2008 Riesling cut through the heat of this slightly spicy dish, making for an delicious, yet elegant pairing. We look forward to serving our guests at what will be a very enjoyable evening.”

About Woodriver Cellars
Woodriver Cellars is the best kept secret among Idaho’s fine wineries. Named after the much acclaimed Woodriver Vineyard, which the company purchased in 2008, Woodriver Cellars uses environmentally sustainable practices and has gained a reputation for creating unique, award-winning wines from the best grapes in Idaho. Located at an optimal 2,200 feet elevation at the heart of the Snake River Appellation, the Woodriver Vineyard has a history of producing outstanding grapes. In fact, the vineyard has contributed towards other wineries winning awards for over 15 years. Celebrated winemaker Neil Glancey takes advantage of Woodriver Vineyard’s optimal rocky, Bordeaux-like soil and purposefully limits harvests to two tons per acre to produce memorable wines with intense fruit flavors that stay in the minds of wine lovers long after they have finished a bottle. Based on its limited wine production, Woodriver Cellars award-winning wines are available only at select restaurants, boutique wine shops and the Woodriver Cellars winery. Their wines have won numerous awards at renowned wine tasting competitions, such as the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the West Coast Wine Competition, the Idaho Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York, to name a few.
